Dell r650xs memory detection
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share an issue we're currently facing with our newly purchased Dell R650xs server. We bought it with 1 processor and 3 DIMMs, each having a capacity of 16GB. However, we encountered an error related to the DIMM configuration when we followed the manual's instructions of connecting the DIMMs in slots A3, A5, and A1.
The problem is that the server is displaying an error message regarding the DIMM configuration, and when we boot into Windows, we only have 32GB of memory instead of the expected 48GB. We're puzzled as to what might be causing this discrepancy and if we missed any important steps during the configuration.
If anyone has experience with this server model or has encountered a similar issue, we would greatly appreciate any insights or suggestions to resolve this problem. Your assistance would be invaluable to us.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello, could you check this bit as well?
For Optimizer
https://dell.to/45Y3Cca
page 59
Table 29. Memory population rules
"Processor Configuration Memory population Memory population information Single processor Optimizer (Independent channel) population order A{1}, A{2}, A{3}, A{4}, A{5}, A{6}, A{7}, A{8} 1, 2, 4, 6 or 8 DIMMs are allowed."
"Memory population information 1, 2, 4, 6 or 8 DIMMs are allowed."
So I don't think what you are asking for isn't possible, I'm afraid.
