Dell t310 memory support
Hi All,
I came across a two spare memory modules that I would want to use in my t310. The t310 currently has two Kingston modules installed (KTD-PE310Q8/8G). My question is whether it would work to add two modules of this variety KVR1333D3E9S/8G to the configuration? A more detailed specification for the new modules is found here http://www.kingston.com/dataSheets/KVR1333D3E9S_8G.pdf .
I would really appreciate your input here!
Best regards,
Fredrik

Your existing memory is Registered ECC DDR3 memory (source: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139741). The memory you are looking at is Unbuffered ECC DDR3 memory (source: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139978). You cannot mix Registered and Unbuffered memory in a single server. You can use one or the other, just not both.

Thanks for taking the time! Just to follow up on my previous question, given what I just learned (from you). Instead of expanding the current memory install, I might just as well replace it with two 16GB modules of registered ECC. That should work just as well, right? I found these in stock at a local vendor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820239275 .
Best regards,
Fredrik
