Hello skybro6789,

If you did test with minimum to post components and issue persist then it is one of those components. Likely the system board needs replaced.

If you do have it running fine except the fans that may be the best you can get without replacing the system board.

The Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) controls the fans.  If it is not functioning the system cannot tell how hot things are and default to high.

Honestly if I can just get the fans to not be so loud then it would be fine.

Hello,

this error is related to the BMC, that is a component on the motherboard.

Can you check which firmware version is updated ?

You can try to update the BMC with this file, and see if problem disappear.

Also try to shutdown and drain power with this method.

Thanks

Hello, I have drain the power on the system and nothing, I will try the firmware update but I have never updated the firmware before, Do I have to use windows server 2003? can I use windows server 2019 and just run the firmware update? I currently use Linux so I'll have to install windows temporarily?

Hello,

yest the supported OS are Windows 2003, Windows 2008 and Windows 2012.

Did you test with the .bin under linux?

Thanks

Hello,

you can boot the server with this ISO and update it outside the OS

Thanks

Unfortunately I've attempted to boot this ISO using two different drives and different methods and I am getting a "Unknown interrupt or fault at EIP 00000060 c04011ed 000011ec" multiple  times and then the server reboots.

Hello skybro6789,

You mention they had this error when you purchased them.  Do you know what troubleshooting was done previously?

The Baseboard Management Controller is integrated to the system board.

Marco provided update methods.  Did you have a successful burn of the ISO?  Does it boot on another system? Just want to confirm it is bootable.

If you have a DRAC then try these steps:

1: clear flea power (shut down, unplug power and hold power button for 20 seconds, reconnect power)

2: boot to bios and soft-reset it (turn on caps/scroll/num lock and hit alt+e, alt+f, alt+b and the system will reboot)

3: boot into the Ctrl+E iDrac bios and reset it to default, escape and the system will reboot.

4: boot back into the iDrac bios again and verify Drac LAN and IPMI over LAN are both enabled, save and exit, escape and the system will reboot.

5: check if error persist

Next step would be Minimum to POST configuration.

Remove all components except the ones in the list and disconnect everything from the exterior. You can leave monitor attached.

If you get a good POST then put things back in a little at a time until you find faulting component.,

These are the minimum parts needed to POST:

*Risers

*Sideplane

*Mezzanine

*Heatsink (IO55 and MCP55

*CPU1 (min for troubleshooting)

*Memory on A1 for CPU1

*One Power Supply

*Control Panel

Hello. I have been trying the update solutions but as you've seen its been unsuccessful. I do not know the troubleshooting that was done previously. I do believe I've successfully using rufus created a bootable ISO from the last send image, I have created many bootable flash drives and attempted the ISO sent to me with many different configurations all resulting in the same error for both R805, however it will not run on my r610, after 10 seconds waiting nothing happens (I can get to where it says it will load in 10 seconds just not actually boot into it on all servers.)
I do not have a drac, However I did the clearing power for 20 seconds as well as the soft-reset and tried booting with minimum hardware all resulting in the same bmc error. If I can't fix this is there an alternative way of controlling the fans so at they aren't as loud? that is my main issue the bmc can remain in its none working state as long as I can get the fans to not be in full speed all the time.

Hello skybro6789,

Motherboard

PN#F705T - ASSY,PWA,PLN,R805,TRPM,V4

I do not know another way to resolve the fan issue. Maybe someone on the forum has used linux and can share their experience.

Would you be able to send me the exact part number I need by any chance? and is there no way to manually lower the rpm on the fans even without the bmc working? Maybe I can use a Linux package or something?
