FX2 - FC630 - Fatal Bus Error and PSOD VMware ESXi
We had one of our ESXi hosts PSOD twice within 30 minutes of rebooting and both times the error showing in OpenManage/iDRAC was
A bus fatal error was detected on a component at slot 77.
A fatal error was detected on a component at bus 7 device 13 function 0.
I couldn't figure out what device this was until running lspci from an SSH session to the host which came back with
0000:07:0d.0 PCI bridge: PLX Technology, Inc. Device 8780
Which is still not really helpful. I'm guessing it's one of the PCI cards in the chassis itself but how can I figure out for certain?
After updating firmware and ESXi patches it's been stable but I'd really like to know how to find the end device.

Hello MarcLaflamme,
For troubleshooting purposes you have probably already run this, but I'm putting it out there:
try lspci -vv to gather more detail.
You can also take a look in the iDRAC for the System Event Log and LifeCycle log for any related issues.
You may also run the built in hardware diagnostics to rule out any hardware issues.

Hi @Dell -Charles R thanks for the reply. I missed this notification last week, the email was sent to junk!
The -vv flag only added Class 0604: 10b5:8780 to the line which still doesn't help much. The iDRAC event log and LifeCycle Logs weren't helpful either.
I didn't think about running HW Diags and will do that next maintenance window, thanks for the suggestion.
