Firmware for Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5709 1000Base-T

I am tempted to pick up a server pull ethernet adapter for a whitebox application but need to update the firmware for compatibilty with VMware. It seems that the firmware upgrade is by Dell Update Package (DUP). Running the DUP will most likely fail in the compliance verification stage.

Anyway to upgrade firmware on R610 or T5500?
