Hard Drives/OS Wont Install!

So I just got my Dell Power Edge 1950 III and I need help urgently. I have a SAS 146GB 15K RPM Drive and it will not detect at all. When I try to install Ubuntu it does not detect the drive, when I try to install 2012 server it does not even let me load the OS shows a error. All I have done is took the server out of its box, HDD and DRAC5 already installed. Turned it on with DVD+R in drive with ISO Bootable Media on it and it boots up the media after a while but will not detect my drive. I need help please.
