Hardware specs for a new Virtual Domain controller for 300 users
Hi,
We are currently migrating AD from windows 2003 to 2012 r2 environment and would like to replace the server hardware of the DC controllers in one of our primary sites. It would be really helpful if I can get any help with understanding what hardware specs I should go for this AD controller?
More info if it helps in designing the specs: we would like to make this AD controller virtual.
Thanks and waiting to hear your views and recommendations,

AD is not super intensive, so the requirements will be modest. If it is only running an AD VM, then a single 4-6 core processor, 8GB RAM, couple of 10K/15K SAS drives in a mirror should do.
Just make sure this is not your only DC. Best practices say you should always have at least one physical DC.
