Yes, the processor has to match the original EXACTLY, and each processor must have identical memory configurations.

You waited only 4 minutes?  If it is that urgent, call Dell Support in your region/country.

16GB DIMMs are supported, and you can use 4x16GB in Optimizer Mode (manual shows 4x8GB, but now that 16GB are available, they will also work).

Using 4 DIMMs will slow the memory speed to 1067MHz, even if 1333MHz or 1600MHz memory is installed (slows to 800MHz if DIMMs are quad-rank(4R))

I don't remember which version of the BIOS is required for 16GB support ... make sure you update the system firmware (including BIOS) before upgrading.

Thanks Flash for your answer .. btw i asked this question 2 days ago but one of the admins moved it to another section and suddenly it was moved to this section now .. I would like to ask another question please about adding another processor to my server and fill the other 4 slots with 64 gigs of ram .. Is it possible ?
