How to Replace Hard Disk on Power Edge R310 with RAID 5 array.

Hi, my name is Santiago im new in this group, i wanna know How to Replace Hard Disk on Power Edge R310 with RAID 5 array, my server have 4 HDD numbered 0, 1, 2 and 3 the problem is the Disk 2 is not working.

After this I want to know two things.

1. The complete procedure of how to replace the disc as I told you at the beginning;
2. If this RAID5 type array is not lost the information.

Greetings.

Hello

Drive replacement procedures are dependent on the RAID controller. The manual for the controller should have instructions. Our PERC page has a link for manuals on the right side of the page:

2. If this RAID5 type array is not lost the information.

RAID 5 is an n+1 RAID array. It can recover from a single disk failure, so once the drive is replaced and the rebuild of the new drive completes the array should go from degraded back to optimal.

Thanks
