How to change PowerEdge 12G system model name?
Just replaced a motherboard on a PowerEdge R720xd, but the system model name is Compellent SC8000. I have already change the service tag with asset /s command and updated firmware. As far as i can tell R720xd and SC8000 motherboards are the same. How can I change the system model name to say PowerEdge R720xd?

It sounds like you need to run the Dell ISM located here. I would also update the BIOS at the same time. You can find it the current BIOS update here.
Let me know if this helps resolve the model number issue.

Thank you for your response. All firmware is up to date. I don't have an OS installed. Is there no pre-OS solution? Perhaps a tool on Support Live Image that I've overlooked?

I cannot run ISM as i get the error: "This is not a supported server."
