How to enable WOL on PE1950/2950/2850 windows 2k3/2k8

Hi,

I am trying to enable wake on lan (wol) feature on PE2950 sever but havent found the option in BIOS. I have achieved the wol feature on linux server using "ethtool -s eth0 wol g" and i am able to wake servers. But i haven't found option for windows 2k3/2k8 or winxp.

Kindly let me know what should be done to enable wol and wake up machines remotely.

Sanjaymp,

You can enable WOL in the Broadcom NICs Boot Agent. During POST you may see a banner message for the Broadcom NICs. Press Ctrl-S, and it will let you enable the WOL option through that menu. If you do not see the banner message for the Broadcom NICs at POST, then he banner is disabled. As the system begins POST hit CTRL-S (There will NOT be a prompt for this), hit it a few times till the boot agent starts.

Do you have a Drac installed on the servers? If so then it would probably be a better option for you than WOL.
