IDRAC7 not getting IP from DHCP

I have VLAN30 in my network, subnet is 192.168.30.xx. LAN is 192.168.1.xx

My IDRAC is plugged into access port (VLAN30) however it's not getting an IP. If I plug it into Trunk port, it can get an IP of 192.168.1.xx. And if I plug it into Trunk port and I set the VLANID to 30. It's able to get 192.168.30.xx but I don't want this IDRAC to be plugged into Trunk port. So in summary

1. Plugged into Access Port -> Can't get an IP

2. Plugged into Trunk Port -> Able to get 192.168.1.xx

3. Plugged into Trunk Port and set VLANID to 30 in IDRAC -> Able to get 192.168.30.xx

Why is it not working when plugged into Access Port? I saw this link and it's saying the same thing

Tutorial iDrac - Vlan configuration [ Step by Step ] (techexpert.tips)

"To work properly, this interface has to be connected to a Switch port configured as trunk."

Hi,

What firmware version is the idrac on? Is the NIC mode dedicated? Which license do you have? What type of switch are you connecting it to? Is the access port set to be on VLAN 30? When it is connected what is the port status, does it show up and have link lights? If you are running Linux on the server make sure that the driver for the NIC is installed. These links may also have information that could be helpful. https://dell.to/3Hdc9uL

try this, connect the idrac to an access port. Then assign a static IP of 192.168.30.xx to the idrac. Then ping another IP on the 192.168.30.xx network. if you can get this to work, then the dhcp will start working. The issue isnt on the idrac's side since if you connect it to the trunk port it works, the issue is on the switch side. It would help if you could post the relevant portions of the switch config here. Port configs, port-channel configs vlan configs.

If I plug other device in the same access port, I'm able to get 192.168.30.xx. Only iDrac is having this issue.

In fact, I've installed proxmox using the NIC1 and it can get the 192.168.30.xx IP just fine.

Switch port profile.
