Toke_hs,

I would start with verifying the settings in the BIOS, as well as where the card is installed. In the BIOS under NVME settings you must set both this field and the Embedded SATA field on the SATA Settings menu to RAID mode. You might also need to change the Boot Mode setting to UEFI. Otherwise, you should set this field to Non-RAID mode.

Lastly, you may want to make sure the system is up to date on BIOS and iDrac as well.

Let me know.

Having the same issue with a P4510 in an R730. The IDRAC will not accept the driver found on Dell's website because it does not even recognize the hardware is there. I found this in the PowerEdge Server Troubleshooting Guide, Pg. 53: https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/poweredge-c6320p_users-guide15_en-us.pdf "PERC controllers do not support NVME PCIe drives Issue: NVME PCIe connected drives are not supported by PERC RAID controllers. Solution: The controller is working as deigned. • For more information about installation and removal of NVMe PCIe SSD in the system, see Replacing and configuring hardware. • For configuring and managing the PCIe SSD adapter, see Configuring And Managing Your NVMe PCIe SSD Adapter. " We do have a PERC controller in our server, but are hoping this simply does not prevent us from using our new P4510's that were promised as "compatible" with R730s.

HI Chris,

I have a similar problem and have not been able to solve it or find any related information.

I have an R640 with:

- PERC H730P Mini (Embedded)

- 2x 600GB SAS HDD 10K rpm in RAID

- 1x 1TB Samsung DCT 983 NVMe

The HDDs work well, however, the Samsung NVMe is not detected.. The power lights are one but nothing shows in iDRAC9, etc. I have recently updated Dell firmware everywhere (except the NVMe drive)...

Is this a configuration issue? Or NVMe drives cannot be combined with SAS HDDs?

Boa noite!
Tenho um R640 com backplane de 4 baias pra NVMe U.2.
Comprei 2 discos INTEL P4510 NVMe U.2, eles aparecem na BIOS mas não me deixam criar um Array.
Controladora S140, estou tentando criar RAID 1.

Alguma dica, por favor?

Hola, gracias por elegir Dell y bienvenido a nuestra comunidad.¿Podemos pedirte que sigas la página 23? Dell PowerEdge RAID Controller S140 User’s Guide

‘Converting to RAID disks’

‘Creating the virtual disks’

El P4510 es compatible, pero asegúrate de que sea de la marca Dell.
