Is more than 8GB maximum memory possible in PowerEdge T100?
My PowerEdge T100 currently has 4 x 2GB DDR2 modules giving 8GB RAM in total. The system spec states that 8GB is the maximum memory allowed, but how "flexible" is that limit? Ideally I would like to upgrade to 4 x 4GB modules giving 16GB in total. Has anyone tried putting in more than 8GB or RAM?

The only other question I have then, is there a suitable replacement/upgrade motherboard for my PowerEdge T100? I am reluctant to purchase a new server just because of this constraint. Many thanks.

It's unlikely that you can get another motherboard to fit/work in this system due to the rather non-standard chassis and front panel.
If you need more than 8GB of memory, I think you may be stuck buying a newer server (e.g. T110 II (supports up to 32GB judging from the sales configuration tools online))
