Issues installing 2008 server onto an r510 server.

Hi Guys,

Currently on the PowerEdge servers we are running are trying to install different operating systems onto the servers. These servers are previously used however are being used again for testing.
On the install process it gets to where the operating system should be installed however no drives show up and the only option is to scan for device drivers. I have tried to use the different drivers supplied in the support page but to no avail.
Any suggestions?

Hello

If you are using a RAID controller then you need to create a virtual disk or put the drives into a mode that will be presented to the operating system. Disk configuration on the RAID controller must be performed before installing the OS or the drives will not be presented to the OS.

You can find drivers and documentation on the system support page.

You can find information about our controllers in the manual.

Thanks

Hi,

are you using the lifecycle controller to install the O/S or booting from the OS install Media?

The lifecycle controller will prepare the drivers required by the OS and will allow it to detect the controller and virtual disk. If the OS is not listed when you click on OS Deployment, you may need to update the lifecycle drivers.
