Keyboard and mouse not working in iDRAC8

Hello,

My keyboard and mouse not working on one of the M630 Blade servers. I have other M630 blades on the same M1000E chassis and they work without any issues.

Only on one particular blade I'm facing this issue.

All the FW are updated to the latest version.

FW version --> 2.50.50.50

More importantly; are the keyboard and mouse not working when you are plugged into the front of the blade directly, or are you talking about in the iDRAC console?

If you're talking about the iDRAC console, in the iDRAC, go to Virtual Console under Server, and the bottom option is for the Keyboard/Mouse Attach State. Make sure this is not set to Detached. If it is, change it to auto or plain attached and hit apply.

Hello

Was it working previously? Did something change when it stopped working? Have you tried restarting the blade? Have you tested to see if the mouse and keyboard work when booting to the system BIOS or lifecycle controller?

Also, check to see what the installed license is for the blade having issues.

Thanks

Just thought I would throw this in as well. Right above the "attach state" is an option for "Automatic System Lock". This helped me when I recently lost the initial mouse and keyboard control after having the console minimized for a while. You could initiate control by a local KVM, but after idle time no more control. On reboots, it prevented me from pressing F2 in the console.  It seems like as long as you don't loose connectivity it may not cause this issue.  I happened to have a USB bus problem on my remote work station at the time as well, but unchecking this option is the only way I finally got control back in the console.  I haven't recreated the issue since, but thought this might help someone.
