MEMORY IN R710 QUAD-RANKED

AFTERNOON FOLKS, I TRIED TO DO AN UPGRADE IN MY R710, MY IDEA WAS PUT 8 MEMORY DIMM'S 8GB QUAD-RANK 8500 TO HAVE A 64GB CONFIGURATION, BUT JUST RECOGNIZE 48GB.

I TRIED TO READ THE HARDWARE OWNER MANUAL BUT THERE'S JUST THE POPULATION FOR DUAL RANK AND SINGLE RANK.

SOMEONE COULD TEACH ME WHICH IS THE CORRECT POPULATION FOR 8 DIMMS IN 2 PROCESSORS MODE?

I WILL REALLY APRECIETE YOUR HELP.

THANKS ALOT

Hello

a quad-rank memory module is installed, then only one other memory module can be added to that channel.

The channels are {1,4,7},{2,5,8},{3,6,9}, so if you are using quad rank modules you can't populate slots 7, 8, or 9. You can only populate the first 2 slots of the channel. A maximum population with quad rank modules would be 1,2,3,4,5,6.

Your modules should be populated in slots 1,2,3,4 on both lanes(A, B) if you are using optimizer mode. If all of the memory is not available in the OS then it is likely the memory is not installed properly, some of the memory is faulty, or the OS has a memory limit you are hitting.

Thanks
