Maximize R910 CPU Utilization for Single Large Application
I have an R910 4-CPU 10-core with 128Gb memory. I want to use it to run a finite element program that has a parallel solver. The operating system is Windows 10 Pro Workstation which recognizes all cpu's and core count. However when I invoke the solver the cpu's only commit to about 25-30% load and no further.
1. Are there tweaks in the R910 BIOS to allow for higher usage? I know I can turn off hyper threading by setting Logical cores to 1 in BIOS, and I did since this app works better that way.
2. The app can handle the large number of cores, I have seen it done on another machine (not a server) solving the same problem with all cpu running at 95-100% . The solution to this problem takes about 10 minutes on the fully committed machine.
3. I can see all the cores in Windows Resource Manager running along at about 25-30% .
4. I set the Windows 10 Power Profile to Ultimate.
Thanks in advance...
