I also though so, , server is in a data center and I have to go with the information that I can find with the tag number, If I search for our tag number it says we have this memory:

C59WN 16 DUAL IN-LINE MEMORY MODULE, 4G, 1066, 4RX8X72, H959F, BIC

But the invoice papaire we get when we bought the server  says:

64 GB memory for 2 CPU (16 GB Quad Rank RDIMMs) 1066MHZ, 2 memeory Raiser included.

Do we have Dual or Quad memory in the server?

Also what is the totall of 4 memory Raisers in the server? do we have only 4 memory Raisers or more?

Do you the 8 GB Quad at Dell? I can only see the 8 GB Dual.

I did mail you the service tag of the server may be it become handy.

If I understood you correctly we cannot add 2x32 GB memory to the currrent memory config becuase the memories must be per 2. is it possible to add 4X 32GB memory? 2X32 gb in white sleevs of eache risers, is this correct? ofcurse then we will have more then 128 GB memory but that is also fine.

But we cannot find the 8 GB quad memory, the strang thing is that when we use our Tag number and choose to up grade our memoryies it saying it has 5 items has been found but we see only 3 items!!

Could you pleas send us the link to both products?

Thank you as always for your detailed information, we really appreacite it.

We did bought 8X16GB memory to replace the current 16X4 GB quad memories.

But when we put the new 16 GB memories in the server, server goes in the reboot loop and keep on rebooting and we dont even get the chance to go to the BIOS.

we did try different wasy to put the new memories in the server, but server wont start or if it start as I said it goes to the reboot loop.

we do not mix the old memories with the new one, we use only the new memories. when we put the old memories (4 gb quad) back  in the server server boot normaly.

We bought:

8X16 GB 2RX4 1600 REG

Any idea why server wont boot normally?

Thanks for the update,

I dont think that at the moment updateing the BIOS is good idea, because in some cases I heard that after the updating the Bios the new module still dont work and old memories module also stop working.

Q1. Do you mean we should remove or disable one of the Processors and test the memorie modules only with one processor?

Q2. As you know  after installing the new modules, now 4 of memory banks on each rasier are empty  Can we put the 4 GB Quad meories in the white slive Chanels and the 16 GB Dule memories in the Black slive Chanels?

 

Q3. Could you please let us know in which position should we install only the 16GB dual Rank memories in?  should the put in A1,A2,A3,A4 and C1,C2,C3,C4?  we did install them only in the White one did not work then put them only in the Black one also did not work!

Q.1 Does the PC3-8500R kit the same memory as what we have?

 

Q.2 is it possible to mix the old 4GB memories and new 16 gb memories and get the server to start?

As I previously mentioned when we only use the new 8X16 GB meories the system will not start becuase memories dont post.

Q. If we use the old 8X4GB memories and mix them with 8x16GB new memories would system boot? this way we  will have 160GB memory in the system. or we can not use these new 16gb memories in with our E7530 processors at all?

I ask this becuase we already pay for the memory module and we cannot send them back. and also you said:

"It is recommended that larger size DIMMs be installed first, i.e on slots with white sleeves."

Can you please tell us if this modules will work? we talked to the vendor and they said is there mistake and they are going to replace the 16gb memories with these 8GB
