Module ipmi_msghandler & ipmi_si fatal during firmware update on PowerEdge 1950 Gen II
Hi
Whilst updating the firmware of the Dell PowerEdge 1950 Gen II via the Dell firmware iso, I get the following:
[65/115] - Executing Systems-Management_Firmware_D8GP9_LN32_1.65_A00.bin
Collecting inventory...
FATAL: Module ipmi_msghandler not found.
FATAl: Module ipmi_si not found.
This issue is also carried to Ubuntu 16.04 as modules depending on ipmi_si are failing to load.
How can I solve this please

Hi
I get this error when updating the firmware of the PowerEdge 1950 Gen II using the dell firmware iso that I boot from to perform such update.
On Ubuntu the kernel version is 4.4.0-65-generic

I'm experiencing the same behaviour with a PowerEdge 1950 too.
Did you find a resolution for it?
