NIC on M1000e enclosure

Hi all,

I am newbie about blades. Recently, we bought a M1000e enclosure with nine M600 blades and two NIC modules (2x 16 interfaces). Naturally, each blade uses an interface from each NIC module. In others words, I have eth0 and eth1 at each blade. However, in that scenary, I have seven interfaces by NIC module without use.

My question: can I use the surplus interfaces on my blades? If yes, must I use graphical or shell interface to configure? Is it a vlan?

Thanks in advanced.

Good morning, Eriberto.

Here is a link to the manual; this will help assist you with your decisions:   http://dell.to/NMQNHj

Each blade is staggered across the 2 switches to help prevent bottlenecks on the network.  The remaining ports can remain unused.
