Do you have any tips for installing the Matrox G450 PCI on a Dell PowerEdge 1600SC? Was it just a matter of inserting the PCI card and rebooting the system? Was the embedded video automatically disabled as Dell claims and did the Matrox automatically come up as the active video?
I am going to get the Matrox G450 PCI card based on your encouraging experience with your 1600SC but could you please provide any installation help instructions as my previous attempt to install another recommended card, the ATI Radeon RAGE XL 8M failed, i.e., I installed the Rage on the 5th or 6th PCI slot of the 1600SC and booted the Server but neither the embedded video adapter nor the additional PCI card video adapter drove a display monitor.
