Network Cable Unplugged???

Just unboxed and booted my PowerEdge R720 with Windows Server 2008.  All Broadcom NetXtreme NIC's say network cable unplugged. NIC lights are green as are connections on switch, and cables work on other machines.  Please advise.

Never mind!  NICs are all mislabeled and important network services were disabled.  Love your configurator!

Hello,

Was the OS already installed on the box or was the OS newly installed via non OEM Dell media.  If the later, then try to install the Dell Network drivers that system.

If the OS was already installed, the R720 has a Network Daughter Card (NDC) that commonly rattles loose during shipment which causes the problem you are describing. The quick fix is to reseat the NDC firmly to fully connect it.

Here is a video of where the NDC is and how to remove it for a reseat.
