PCI 2.2 card in 1850.
Hi,
I have a Poweredge 1850 and I would like to install two PCI 2.2 cards (http://www.openvox.cn/products/show.php?itemid=20&lang=2) in the PCI-X slots of the server's riser card. I have read that PCI-X is backward compatible with PCI. Is correct that? Is any problem in this connection?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Dimos

Dimos,
There shouldn't be an issue with using the 33Mhz in the slots, they will slow down to the speed of the card.

Dimos,
To answer your questions. The 1850 does support PCI 2.2, they are the 2 slots on the PCI-X riser. The PCI-X is also backwards compatible with the PCI, as long as the voltages for the cards are the same.

Dear DELL-Chris H, Thanks for the quick replay.
I wand to clarify the issue because I found that in user manual (support.dell.com/.../p1295c10.htm):
"A riser card that has one 3.3-V, 64-bit, 100-MHz PCI-X expansion slot and one 3.3-V, 64-bit, 133MHz PCI-X expansion slot."
But the the PCI card is 3.3V 32bit 33Mhz. Is any problem with the operation frequency?
Thanks again for your answer.
