PCI power limit on PowerEdge servers
Hello all,
i work in company that have a lot of Dell servers and we need install few PCI devices. i need please to get any list that how much each PCI slot power support. (X8 and X16).
our servers:
R610
R620
R630
R640
R710
R720
R730
R740
(please don't say that all X16 slots support up to 75W because on server specs it's write that on old servers have only 25W and to newer it's 75W)
Appreciate each answer
Thanks!

TomMLNX,
They're all designed within industry standard specs for each type of PCI slot. The limits, which I believe might be what you are looking for, is based on what is installed not the slot specifically.
Hope you are staying safe as well.

The reason for some may be due to cooling ability, overall power consumption (exceeds the power supplies ability), etc. What cards in general are you referring to, GPUs and such?
