PE R620 Firmware update problem
After upgrading a R620 to the latest firmware for all inventory using the "dsu" utility in CentOS 6 I get the following firmware version for the embedded network adapter:
dsu --inventory
[...]
13. Firmware, Intel(R) Gigabit 4P I350-t rNDC ( Version : 0.0.0 )
14. Firmware, Intel(R) Gigabit 4P I350-t rNDC ( Version : 0.0.0 )
15. Firmware, Intel(R) Gigabit 4P I350-t rNDC ( Version : 0.0.0 )
16. Firmware, Intel(R) Gigabit 4P I350-t rNDC ( Version : 0.0.0 )
Also "omreport chassis biossetup" shows:
[...]
Integrated Devices
------------------------------------------
Integrated RAID Controller : Enabled
User Accessible USB Ports : All Ports On
Internal USB Port : On
Integrated Network Card 1 : Enabled
Integrated Network Card 1 Port 1 Boot Protocol : Unknown
Integrated Network Card 1 Port 2 Boot Protocol : Unknown
Integrated Network Card 1 Port 3 Boot Protocol : Unknown
Integrated Network Card 1 Port 4 Boot Protocol : Unknown
I tried to AC power cycle the server, but it hasn't changed anything.
Also running "dsu" again gives me the following error:
The inventory process failed
Network_Firmware_YHF9V_LN_18.8.9_A00 could not be installed
What can I do to fix the version 0.0.0 and the "Protocol : Unknown" problem ?

Hello,
Are all the devices working, or have any of them stopped working post update? If everything is otherwise working and we have a reporting problem, I would try issuing a racadm racreset -h. If that also fails, you could perform a full power drain by shutting the system off, unplugging it, and holding the power button for around 30 seconds. You can also check to see if "Collect System Inventory on Restart" is enabled. If not, try turning it on and restarting. This group of steps should force the system to reacquire the hardware inventory, as opposed to trying to reference what might be corrupted information.

Hi Dylan,
I first tried
followed by a reboot.
Then I tried:
followed by a reboot.
And last but not least I tried to drain the power as you said by doing a full AC cycle.I still have the same problem.
Do you have any other suggestions of what I can do ?

Checking for the "Collect System Inventory on Restart" is the only other thing I can think of, if you haven't tried it already. Beyond that, it sounds like the type of problem where I'd need to be able to interact with the system to figure it out.
Is it just the reporting that's incorrect, or are you unable to use the devices now?

I already checked the "Collect System Inventory on Restart".
BTW to reply to your question I am able to see the devices.
What else can I do to fix this situation ?
