Pls help with links....
Hi,
Sorry to be so dull, but can someone please supply me with the links to the latest SUU and OMSA?
I can't find the correct pages on this site or via Google for the very latest (I believe 6.2.1 ??)
Also, is there a way to keep up-to-date via email or feeds?
Thx,
John Bradshaw

The best Dell forum would most likely be the System's Management forum:
http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/servers/f/177.aspx
SUU isn't meant to be bootable. You have to boot to the SMTD DVD or similar and select to do updates from that. It will then ask for a repository you would give it the SUU. On newer systems, it will have the option to go to the ftp site and check for updates that way and I think it has an option to check on a USB flash drive too, but not the older systems.

Thx very much AT for the reply. Appreciate the help.
Is there a place to subscribe so that updates are automatically sent to my email address?
Thx,

Thx again AT!! That's great!
I'm still having trouble finding the best forums to discuss both the latest OMSA and SUU. Do u have a favourite couple of forums for these?
And finally (promise :emotion-1: ), is there a link anywhere on how to get the latest SUU on to a bootable USB stick?
Cheers,
John Bradshaw

on the other hand, you can use Repository Manager to create a bootable disk that will automatically perform updates from a Linux environment.
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/SOFTWARE/smdrm/11/en/index.htm
The
Deployment Mediaoption exports the bundles as ISO images.
You can burn these ISO images to a CD, and boot the CD on the
systems that you want to update with the latest bundles. This option
is available for deployment only if you select Linux custom bundles.
This ISO image uses DTK Linux Kernel to execute the DUPs and
update the system.

Keep in mind if you have an OS installed, that will not do the drivers and if you have an old driver for your RAID controller and then update to the latest firmware, it can cause a 0x7B. Easier just to do it in the OS if possible.
