Hi,

If the PSU has smoke coming out, it's not safe to use. Do turn off the server and replace both power supplies. It's advisable to change the power cables too.

Here a DPN# for a 400W Redundant PSU: T130K

Do also check on the main board to identify if there is any capacitor leakage that can cause the electrical connection to malfunction.

hi thanks for the reply.

i have since shut the server down and pulled it out of use,

as it was my home server i dont want to risk my home catching on fire,

i have looked inside the server and there is no issues in there that i can see.

so id assume the PSU's have failed for some reason despite them still powering the system up.

thanks for the part number ill source 2 replacement PSU's and see if that solves the issue.

one more thing i had one go before for no apparent reason it didnt smoke or anything just the power light went out and it did nothing.

could the PDU board be the reason ??

thanks

Hello,

yes it can also be the PDU board the issue. I suggest you to test with both PSUs and see how it goes.

Thanks

Marco
