You can check the behavior with Minimum to Post. For this you can remove all add on cards and drives from the server. Keep only one memory module for both CPU and see whether system able to boot.

I was able to log in to my idrac. It is the latest version, but I tried resetting it (from a similar problem resolution). It didn’t help. Going to try removing the Perc card then reinserting it.

I hate that this worked! Especially that I don’t know root cause

Took out almost all the ram, all the cards, etc, down to one drive, and if past POST.

At the deploy OS screen it talks about RAID. I have my H730 in pass through mode. The warning on the screen says only Microsoft has software controller drivers. I can still install ProMox with zfs file system, right?

Want to add it occurred again when I put all my drives in place and booted up. I think it’s because the drives were virtual pooled together. Anyways got around it by removing 2+ drives during boot. After everything was up & running I plugged hard drives back in.

However I still haven’t managed to boot up into ProxMox. As long as I’m not accessing hard drive at boot up, I can start my machine. Else the RSoD.

ProxMox is not a supported operating system for R730 hence it is not validated on R730. So we can not guarantee it will work. You can try with BIOS boot mode and secure mode disabled and see whether it make any difference.
