PowerEdge 1850 with Wake on lan
Dear sir
I'm a new user for PowerEdge series. I'm curious about WOL's ability for PE1850 running Window Server2003 Standard edition. I'd spent time setting up WOL . I realized that the
BIOS version A02 that come with PE1850 did not have any option about Power management.
My network environment using All Dell Computer. There are workstation such Dell Precision 620 that has
ROM BIOS Plus version 1.10 A07 and Dell Precision 670 ( service tag 84PSD1S ) that has
BIOS version A03. I use WOL sending Magic Packet from single workstation, the other workstation seem to wake up okay,
The reason I need to get WOL for PE1850 is that location for these server is not 24 hours Air- Conditioning. I must turn six of them on every-working day by pressing power bottons. Any possibly way to do WOL?. Advise will be greatly appriciate.
Best regard

Have you had any success with your need to use Wake On Lan? I am in a similar situation and also need to get WOL working with a PowerEdge 1850.

Hi there,
Actually not yet, I've spent lot of time working on network setup, which got me down to my knee. The Wake on lan feature is the last hope that could relief me from repetitive work.
Regarding to the advertising web page of the Dell PE1850, about Wake on lan feature, Things could be great if they told a bit more on how to setup bios for Wake on lan. By the way , I still waiting for the magic answer.
Thanks in advance
