PowerEdge 2650 Xeon cache question

Question

I have a bunch of PowerEdge 2650's, most of them running at 2.4Ghz or less.  I'd like to upgrade them to 3.06 and 3.20 GHz Xeons (at 533MHz FSB).  HOwever, I notice that the 3.06 CPU's come with both 512KB L2 cache and 1MB L2 cache.  all my boxes have 512KB cache.  can i use the 1MB L2 cache chips in the 2650?  It would seem that this wouldn't be a problem, but I had an issue with my 4350's, many years ago, not being able to run faster than 600MHz P3's because of a different cache size in the P3's between 650 and 1100.    (my 4300's could go up to 1000MHz P3's without any problem).  Hence the quandry - will a Xeon with 1MB of L2 cache work okay in a 2650 (dual proc)? Thanks BeekerC

Thanks Dennis.  it says 533FSB during the boot-up, so no problem.

As long as your 2650 has the 533mhz FSB you will be fine.  If you are not sure you can send me a Private Message with the service tags and I can confirm this for you.
