PowerEdge R520 random restarts

Hi folks, I've got this out of warranty R520 that ran trouble-free for over five years until I re-purposed it and updated the BIOS and iDRAC to the latest versions. I didn't have any problems with the firmware or BIOS updates, both reported success. Since then it has been randomly restarting 2-4 times per month. The iDRAC log shows this: CPU 1 MEM VDDQ PG voltage is outside of range. CPU 1 MEM VTT PG voltage is outside of range. C: boot completed. OEM software event. When the "voltage outside range" error occurs the server hard-restarts without cleanly shutting down windows. When I monitor the iDRAC it shows everything with a green check-mark, no problems, yet the restarts continue to happen. To try and solve this I have followed this article. This did not help. I have swapped power supplies, swapped RAM, and reseated CPU1, all to no avail. What else can I do, is there anything I missed?

Hello

The next part to replace would be the system board.

I would suggest running diagnostics to see if the issue can be reproduced easily that way. If it can then start removing unnecessary hardware. Try to fault isolate the hardware causing the problem. If you can't fault isolate then you just start replacing most likely parts.

Thanks

I am having the same issue with the R520. Press the power button and start-up would begin, within 1 to 5 minutes, the system would restart. As if the power button was pressed. So, I pressed the power button, then disconnected the front panel cable to the front panel USB board. The system booted correctly and has not shut down since. However, I have not identified if it's the board, the button, or the ribbon cable. Not sure if this helps, but this would have saved me a few weeks of troubleshooting.
