Also, there were no configuration changes.

Hello,

What operating system do you have installed on your server? I'm assuming this is a Windows version. What troubleshooting steps have been taken up to this point? Were there any configuration changes or power events immediately prior to this behavior?

So it is running MS Server 2008.  Steps taken turned off and back on, Boot Loop began.

  • Attempted typial start-up several times.  Gets to the MS Start ribbon for a about 1-2mins screen goes Black and restarts the initial server start up - Dell splash, Bios ck, HD ck and then to the Windows ribbon.
  • Tried Safe Mode
  • Tried Safe Mode with Networking
  • Tried Last Known working configuration
  • Starting Windows Normal

That looks to be what you'd need.

Unfortunately, I don't believe so. It's been a while since I've worked with Server 2008, but I don't recall if it had it's own startup repair feature. You might see if it does, but other than that I think you may have exhausted the software troubleshooting tools. For sak of thoroughness, I would go ahead and shut the server off, disconnect it from power, and hold the power button down for ~10 seconds. You can then reconnect it to power and bring it online as normal. I've seen this sort of cold start help in the past, but based on the info you provided before, it may be a bit more of a long shot.

If you have your install media, I would give this article a try. I've had success fixing some boot issues following this procedure.

Awesome.  Anyway from our service tag to see which one we should try?

You'd want to get whatever matches your processor, but I believe it should be the 64-bit version.  You should be able to confirm it by checking the processor. If you want to share the model, I can check.

Unfortunately, I do not have a disc to try.  Is there another option?

Tried the recommendation with the power - no luck.  What are odds of sourcing a disc or download?

Provided the processor hasn't changed, it's an Intel E5504.

Intel's page specifies it as a 64-bit processor. I would recommend downloading the 64 bit .iso.

As I thought.  Will have to source a disc and I will let you know.

Again, thanks for assisting.

Did you copy the .ISO file to a USB? If so, that is incorrect. Its a disk image that would need to be burned. You can burn it to a disk like you mentioned, but I generally use a 3rd party tool called "Rufus."

Just for clarity, this is not a Dell supported or recommended tool, just one that I've had good experience with.
