PowerEdge R710 - Bus0 Device 4 Function 0 - Fatal Error PCI

Question

Hi All,

We have the following message on our server:

Bus0 Device 4 Function 0 - Fatal Error PCI Express

Bus3 Device 0 Function 0 - Fatal Error PCI Express

How can we solve these problems that are appearing on our server. Looking at the previous answers, one possibility is to turn off the server and remove the expansion slot, so that you can reconnect again. Is this a viable solution?

Hi Americo,

In addition to reseating the PCI device and riser, it would also be good to make sure that the BIOS and iDRAC are up to date. The latest BIOS for an R710 is 6.6.0, and the latest iDRAC is 2.91. You can find these by navigating to http://www.dell.com/support and then providing your service tag. Links to the update pages are provided below.
