PowerEdge R710 RAM 20GB

Hi All,

Currently i using 20GB

Arrangement is as below

A1 - 4GB
A4 - 4GB
A7 - 2GB
A2 - 4GB
A5 - 4GB
A8 - 2GB
A3 - empty
A6 - empty
A9 - empty

Now i have 2 more RAM of 2GB
Does below arrangement  work ?
A1 - 4GB
A4 - 4GB
A7 - 2GB
A2 - 4GB
A5 - 4GB
A8 - 2GB
A3 - 2GB
A6 - 2GB
A9 - empty

Sorry I don’t think that will work. You really wont know for certain until you try. But from the owners manual it says this.

Memory modules of different sizes can be mixed within a memory channel

(for example, 2-GB, 8-GB, and 4-GB), but all populated channels must

have identical configurations.

So I would say it will not work. And if it does it will not run at the full potential.

How if i arrange it with the following ?

A1 - 4GB

A4 - 4GB

A7 - 2GB

A2 - 4GB

A5 - 4GB

A8 - 2GB

A3 - 4GB

A6 - 4GB

A9 - 2GB

This shud work rite ?
