PowerEdge R720

ESXi 6.5 is installed on a usb (the internal port) , after that the VMs are in a poor performance during both the installation or even the configuration,

even though with those with + 10 GB RAM, 8 Cores

im just wondering if that is related to the internal usb, although SSDs (on the same server) are used for the VMs as a storage

Your ESXi 6.5 will be loaded into a RAMdisk when its started so the speed of the install media doesnt matter.

Use esxtop to find out if the VM suffers from cpu or disk performance.

Joerg
