I have my doubt that Dell ever had certified/supportet a Gamer GFX card within a SERVER. Apart from this a server which need to run a GFX in a compatible and supportet manner needs
GPU enable kit
2x 1100W PSU or more
Special CPU cooler (its smaller) for optimized air flow
limited CPU supportet (150? Watt or less)
All supportet GPU cards have passive cooling in the past
Airflow within the R740xd2 is already reduced because of the 2x 12 HDD trays which are behind each other. The RTX3080 TI is a double height card with high length and i have my doubt if it will fit physical into one of the slots. Is there a PCIe x16 within the xd2?
Because we have a GPU powered VDI environment we have Nvida cards within our R740(non xd or xd2 of course).
