PowerEdge R7515 network adapters support
I am looking for a list of compatible Network adapters that will work with my R7515.
We got 3 servers with integrated gigabit ports, but we need to add 10Gb metalic and 10Gb SFP+ interfaces.
It's surprising how hard is to find this information on Dells site. Even through Dells chat/phone support i can't get a response.
In particular, i would like Quad Port copper and Dual Port SFP+. A reference link would be good enough.
The riser config on the machines are as follow:
Riser Config 1, 2 x 16 LP PCIe slot
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
You would probably be best off contacting sales for this information. I don't have any issue getting you individual part numbers, but if you're looking for documentation of upgrade options, there won't be much I can provide.
If a couple of part numbers will suffice, I'm seeing a quad port SFP+ 10Gb option listed with part number DDJKY (but not a quad port copper). 1WYFT would refer to a 2 port copper 10Gbps X710.
I don't mind checking for a card with any other requirements, if you like, either.

Hi Dylan,
Thanks for your time.
I've contacted the local Dell sales (im in Brazil) by phone before posting here. They told me that would send me by mail the quotation and still waiting their response..
If there's no listing for Quad port copper, the Dual one have to do the job.
Can you find a Dual port SFP+ card? I know that there is an equivalent of the same Intel X710 series...
Thanks again...

Hi Brosig,
Dylan is still out of office, so I checked what we have here.
It looks like there is one supported quad-port 10Gb SFP+ card, the part number is DDJKY (Intel Ethernet Converged Network Adapter X710 - Quad Port).
Regards,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,
Thanks for your response.
I need the Dual port SFP+ and (if available) a Quad port Copper. If there is no support for Quad port copper, the Dual port copper will do.
Thanks again

I'm not seeing a quadport copper option, unfortunately. I will say that the R7515 is a very new model - a 15G - so I wouldn't rule out the possibility that Sales has a compatible option that isn't showing in my inventory. The only quad port copper card I'm seeing listed is a 5719, but that would only be a 1Gbps connection, not 10.
That having been said, I looked at parts for the R7415, just out of curiosity. I found another X710 design, but this card was a 4 port copper card. I bring it up because I figure there is a decent chance it might work, and Sales might have a part number that hasn't been updated on my side. Anyway, the part number for the 4 port copper 10Gbps X710 for the R7415 is 08XJ7. If there isn't a 4 port design for this server, I'd guess that one would work (based on the fact that the first card I'd listed was a 2 port X710), but I still need to stress that it would be 110% unsupported.

Hi Dylan,
I'll try again to reach sales and see if this quad port will work.
Can you give me the part number for the Dual port SFP+ ?
Thanks again for your response.

Hi Brosig,
there is one low profile and one full-length card. Here are the part numbers and descriptions:

Well.....
.... the list is way longer but depends on your OS i suggest to take a Intel or Broadcom. You need a PCIe LowProfile and you need a CustomerKit.
We are a R7x0 rather than a R7xx5 shop but do you have forget to specify the LOM when ordering the servers? Normaly the premium servers comes with 4xNIC which is for some models a 2x2.
There is no 4x SFP+ low profile card.

Joerg

@Origin3k It would be great to post the rest of the sheet! This information is gold! trying to find a compatible nic AND a compatible bracket. it's basically impossible!
