PowerEdge T320 support for E5-2450L

Hello Community,

I want to know if the T320 supports the E5-2450L processor. Because on the product-page it says that  Intel® Xeon® E5-2400 processors are supported but the whitepaper does not list the E5-2450L or E5-2450 processor.

Can anybody tell me if somebody has upgrade their T320 to this processor?

best regards

Hello

Yes, the T320 supports the 2450 and the 2450L. We have specific steppings and versions we have validated. If you are buying the CPU from our sales department then they will sell a validated CPU. If you are purchasing it third party then I would suggest listing the exact specifications of the CPU you plan to purchase to check if it is validated. Even if we haven't validated the stepping or version it may still work.

Thanks

Here are the Specs of the processor E5-2450L:

Spec-Code: SR0LH
Produktcode: CM8062007283711
Stepping: C2

That CPU is not validated, but it may work. This is the CPU you have at C2 stepping:

The version of the CPU that is validated is the 2450L V2 at M1 stepping:

Thanks

I just received the CPU and installed it. Server ist starting normally, but after some time the server crashes without any warning.

ESM says this:

Sat Jul 08 17:51:41 2017    An OEM diagnostic event occurred.
Sat Jul 08 17:51:41 2017    An OEM diagnostic event occurred.
Sat Jul 08 17:51:41 2017    CPU 1 machine check error detected.
Sat Jul 08 17:52:16 2017    CPU 1 has an internal error (IERR).

BlueScreenView on the HyperV says this:

070817-27343-01.dmp    08.07.2017 17:53:48        0x00000124    00000000`00000007    ffffe001`54f2b038    00000000`00000000    00000000`00000000    ntoskrnl.exe    ntoskrnl.exe+5a6711                    x64    ntoskrnl.exe+5a6711                    C:\Windows\Minidump\070817-27343-01.dmp    16    15    9600    262 144    08.07.2017 17:53:56

Is there anything I can do?

this is the bios version running on the server.

BIOS-Version: 2.4.2
Firmware-Version: 1.66.65 (Build 07)

A CPUIERR is an error detected by the CPU. I can be an issue with the CPU, but the CPU is rarely the cause of CPUIERRs.

This issue is not related to CPU compatibility. If the CPU was not compatible the system would not complete POST. Please create a new thread on the CPUIERR issue and be sure to mention pertinent information like the issue starting after installing new hardware. You should also link to this post.

Thanks
