Hello, is this CR2032? If you replaced a CR2032 and still are seeing the same issue, it's most likely with the mainboard. However it is unlikely that it will affect the OS booting and service running. It's up for you to decide of course and if you want a second opinion, you can also raise an official ticket through  https://dell.to/3WWXQ6V

I would recommend changing the battery, but you must take note of the bios settings, as you WILL lose any settings in the BIOS.

Thanks for your message, maybe you know what could happen, when I ignore this and the battery is going empty?

Hello Passyed,

I'm sorry to see you have CMOS battery low message.

A few things to check:

  • Update BIOS and iDRAC firmware for system board check results
  • Try a different battery check results
  • Clear NVRAM  -Shut down. Set the NVRAM jumper on the system board to clear position. (There should be a  map behind the cover to locate the jumper.) Boot up to the jumper error, shut down, return jumper to default position. Power up and check results.

Please let me know how it goes. If you still have the issue after those steps please let me know the server model and battery error entries you see in the iDRAC System Event Log.

Remember the battery powers BIOS with the machine off.  So if it is ever off, BIOS settings can be lost, including during a restart.  A bad battery can cause boot, boot loop, and download problems, and other seemingly unrelated bizarre problems.  When updating BIOS and anything else powered by the battery with the PowerEdge off, it's best to have a good battery so there's less chance of update failure or worse, brick the MB.

We also wouldn't want a bad battery to swell and leak, 2 possibilities.
