Poweredge 2900 SAS A cable missing or misconfigured

We have a Poweredge 2900 that on boot gets and error

"SAS A cable missing or misconfigured" Press F1 to continue or F2 to enter setup.

All Hard drives are functioning and are online. The Raid Arrays we have setup are fine too. We've replaced the SAS A cable (PC393) with the same result.

What could be causing this issue.

Crandall348,

Please power down the server and then check the connections on the board side, on the back plane and board. You have swapped the cables, but the connectors the cable connects to, is there any damage or does it appear the connection is pulling from the board?

Connections do not appear to have any damage.

I have this problem too -- I don't reboot this server often (174 days is the current uptime), but every time it is rebooted, someone needs to go and press the stupid F1 for the boot to go on.

It is very annoying -- is there some way to configure it to keep going, without waiting for the F1 to be pressed?

(The hardware RAID functionality is already disabled -- my OS sees all eight drives individually and uses ZFS over them.)
