Problem Voltage is outside of the allowable range on PowerEdge R910
Hi everyone
We have a PowerEdge R910 Service Tag , this server have 4 CPU's and 256 GB of RAM, this problem start when we get an alert from iDrac with this message:
- CPU 3 has an internal error (IERR).
We buy a new one and performed the CPU replace, then when we try power on the server, the server didn't startup and show two new error messages:
- The CPU1 VIO PG voltage is outside of the allowable range.
- The system board PFault fail-safe voltage is outside of the allowable range
We serach on Dell community forums and find two recomendations:
- swap out CPU 1 with CPU 2 and re-seat memory risers A and B together with their associated components.
- Exchange all CPU's, and make a power drain.
We already perform both suggestions whitout resolve the problem.
Another patern in this problem is the MainBoards LED's # 0, 1, and 2 are flashing.
Please can anyone help me with this problem???

Hi everyone
Let me share my experience with this incident.
We follow differents suggestions from differents articles from Dell community and others externals sources whitout any positive change.
Then we decide test with the lower hardware configuration, starting with only CPU1, remember before we did not have server post test, with this configuration the mainboard start up successfuly, then we add the CPU3 and again the mainboard did not start neither make the post test, we remove CPU3 and add CPU's 2 and 4 the server start up ok.
We isolate the error on CPU3 socket, then we thoroughly inspect CPU 3 socket and find somes pins out of position, we fix them and finaly the server start up successfuly.
