Problem updating video driver in Poweredge 2950
I am trying to update the video driver of an old PowerEdge 2950 (it has Windows Server 2008 installed) so I entered the support page and types the service tag. After this I was taken to the "Drivers and Downloads" page where I downloaded the video driver. After running setup I get an error message saying that "The configuration will only work in Administrator mode". What does this mean? I guess it has nothing to do with Windows user account because I am actually as the Administrator.

Right-click your driver file and choose Run as Administrator. If you are not familiar with UAC on Vista/7/2008/R2, I would recommend learning more about its function and purpose ... although you might be "Administrator" or a member or the Administrators group, Windows still requires software that makes changes to your computer to be "approved" when run. If you are "Administrator" or a member or the Administrators group, then you have privileges sufficient to authorize it, but you sometimes must tell it to run with administrator credentials.

I found that the drivers that I downloaded from "Drivers and Downloads" for video and network cards are not the correct ones, that is the reason they are not installed. I checked the model for both of them and got them directly from the manufacturer's web site and they were installed successfully. I double-checked the service tag, I even saw it in the BIOS configuration, and what I have is correct. Now my question is, how can I be sure that updating the BIOS will work? I am not confident about performing such an update because my server could become unusable.

I don't understand the issue - or why you think that updating the BIOS will "work". There is nothing in your description of the problem that leads me to believe updating the BIOS will fix it - or is even the next step. Sure, anything can happen during a BIOS update, I have heard stories and know that it "can", but it is extremely unlikely that anything will happen. Of the hundreds, if not thousands, of BIOS update I've performed, I have never had one disable/brick a system.
What version is your BIOS at?
Which version of 2008 have you installed - R1/R2? 32-bit/64-bit?
Your basic issue is that the network and video drivers are not installed?

I am sorry I did not explain my issue correctly. My main concern is that the video and network card drivers I used from the "Drivers and Downloads" center did not work, I had to download them from the manufacturer´s web site. Now, if those drivers were not the correct ones, how can I be sure the rest of them are, the BIOS for example? If video and networks drives from Drivers and Downloads were incorrect, what is the posibility that the BIOS is also incorrect? Is this possible?
The Bios Version is 2.7.0
I am using Windows Server Standard Edition 64 Bit

It's more likely that you downloaded the wrong drivers than the Support site gave you the wrong drivers (sorry).
IF we are talking about Server 2008 64-bit (non-R2), then here are the drivers you should be using:
Network (the 2950 uses the Broadcom NetExtreme II 5708 NIC):
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriverDetails/Product/poweredge-2950?DriverId=H8HTP&FileId=2995481370&DriverName=BROADCOM%20CORPORATION%2CDSK%20PROG%2CNTWK%2CBCOM%2CFMLY%2CISHKA%2C17.2.0%2CA00&urlProductCode=False
If that doesn't work, there is another format that can be used.
Video (IF Server 2008 doesn't have this driver built-in):
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriverDetails/DriverFileFormats/Product/poweredge-2950?DriverId=K9X3V&FileId=2974566604&urlProductCode=False
The BIOS is easy to tell if you have the right one - it is named PE2950_BIOS_WIN_2.7.0.EXE. Besides, it will not let you run the update from, say, a 6950 or R710, on a 2950 - there are protections against running the wrong packages.

TRY THIS FIRST
1.CNTRL -> DISPLAY
2. IF YOU CAN SET IF TO 16 BIT RATER 32 BIT
3. CHECK THE NEW MAX RESOLUTION.
IT WORKED FOR ME.
