Problem with T410 server not seeing new memory installed in slot A4
We had a T410 server with two 8 GB of memory installed in it, and we recently purchased two additional 8 GB modules from Dell. The one in A3 showed up fine, but the one in A4 is not showing up. We've tried to reseat it, and it appears to be in properly, but it doesn't even show up during the boot up process, nor do we encounter any error. Also, in OpenManage, DIMM_A1, DIMM_A2, and DIMM_A3 show the 8 GB modules, but there is no entry in A4. Does anyone have any guidance? Thanks

Hello
Have you tried swapping the DIMM with another to see if it is an issue with that DIMM?
I need more information to be able to give any suggestions. Please post either part numbers or specifications for the memory, and post the operating mode of the memory.

On my test R320 I have 4 x 8GB modules
If I put them in A1, A2, A3 & A4 then, like you, I only see 3 modules and 24GB
If I put them in A1, A2, A4 & A5 the R320 sees all 4, for a total of 32GB
Worth a try

We only have A1-A4 and B1-B4. There is only one processor, so I've been told B1-B4 won't help us out.

We swapped the memory modules around, but A4 still shows nothing installed. Thanks for the response.
