Proxy issue during SupportAssist Enterprise setup

Question

I am attempting to setup SAE 4.0.5 on a VRTX blade running ESXi and keep getting 'Invalid Hostname/IP address or port' when clicking next after entering the proxy settings. I copied the proxy server IP and port from the browser setup screen to the Suse appliance CLI and successfully telnetted to the proxy server. I also tried defining the proxy in /etc/sysconfig/proxy on the appliance, left the use proxy server setting unchecked, clicked next and got network connectivity test failed. Is there a way to bypass the proxy settings and continue the setup?

Thanks for the info. I get network connectivity test failed when clicking next without checking the use proxy server box. It looks like the /etc/sysconfig/proxy file on the appliance is being ignored. The proxy server runs squid and does not require authentication.

Hi,

It may seem to have connectivity issue on the network, the SAE network test in setup is relatively straight forward. Though, there is network and ports requirement for SAE deployment on the server: https://dell.to/2G4vN1G could you check on that. May I know what is your ESXi version?

Thanks for the info. Only the esrs3-core.emc.com site is accessible through our proxy. I will request that the other emc sites be whitelisted. The server is running ESXi 6.5 update 3.

Hi,   ESXi 6.5 U3 seems to be supported requirement for SAE, let me know after the sites and ports have been whitelisted you would be able to pass the network test.
