I found that disabling the PERC card in the BIOS allows booting. I also found that removing all the disks from the PERC card allows booting. Something about the PERC card is preventing booting.

Red Hat users have seen an error like this, UEFI0011 - it says here to "hard-reset" the firmware, what does that mean?

Dell R720 from EFI SOLUTION VERIFIED

This solution has been verified to work by Red Hat Customers and Support Engineers for the specified product version(s).

Environment

Getting General protection fault error when booting Dell R720 from EFI

Raw

Type: General Protection Fault (13) Source: Software (UEFI0011)

rip B648593D SnpDxe.efi +00193D   <== Crash occurred here

Resolution

The General Protection fault error often indicates the problem with the source code.

However, here this is the problem with firmware.

To resolve this issue, hard-reset the firmware.

Someone should look at this. I have a PERC that is preventing a server from booting.

Please help. This is a PERC card preventing booting of the R520 with a UEFI crash bug. This is serious.

Still an issue. I have one server down for months because of a broken PERC firmware nobody ever updates.

Now instead of the General Protection Fault, I get a hang at:

"Initialization complete"

then the box sits there. Forever. LCM and racadm and GUI and iDRAC all working. Again some issue with either RAID card or the other firmwares is causing this. Its utterly frustrating no one from Dell is looking at this. I eventually figured out hot to repair the damaged OS DRIVER PACK issue from a community member. But with that one Dell didnt really help. Come on Dell, show us good support.

This crash happens both in BIOS-BOOT-UEFI mode as well as BIOS mode. Anytime the PERC card is enabled (H710 Mini) (must be disabled in BIOS on built-in devices) this hang occurs. Its rather vexing and concerning that I've gotten no answers in months.
