R710 - Memory error/upgrade

All,

At the moment I have received 2 dell R710's build same week.
Now in server 1 I have 2 CPU's and want to update from 8 to 16Gb.

Memory mode is Advanced ECC or Mirrored.
So I stack the following:

4x Samsung M391B5673EH1 in slots A2-A3-A5-A6
4x Samsung M393B5673EH1 in slots B2-B3-B5-B6

When booting the server no screen and following error in IDRAC;

0x81
Memory is detected but is not configurable.

Can someone help me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks

Hello.

Change Memory Operating Mode form Advanced ECC to Memory Optimized. Enter the BIOS Setup using F2 key go to Memory Setting and make the changes. Power down the server and now populate memory Slots A1, A4, A2 &A5 and Slots B1, B4, B2&B5 and see what happens.

Was the server intially posting with just 8GB of memory? If so, test the new memory using 2 DIMMs at a time on slots A1 and B1. Otherwise, also test old DIMMs in the same way on the same slots. There might be some fialed DIMMs if not bad memory slot.
