R710 - Unable to get into BIOS
OK, this is just freaky.
So I have a Dell R710 with 2.0.13 on it. Power up, hit F2 (just one) - says entering setup
Shows the RAID and lights out config, then pops into BIOS, for like 1 to 10 seconds. Even if I touch nothing, it immediately drops out of bios, and continues to boot into Windows 2008.
What the heck is going on here. I even attempted to reflash the bios again in Windows 2008. Says it was successful, but same issue.
Has anyone run into this?

I've seen that be a funky keybrd sending scan codes to the system, then the system says ok, he is done exit. which keybrd is it, and you using a ps2 to usb converter (or vice versa).

Are you trying with a keyboard and mouse, or a KVM? If you're going through a KVM, try a plain keyboard and mouse to see if you can then enter (and more importantly stay) in the bios.

It is behind a KVM switch, and yes, it is a USB to PS2 - BUT, never had this issue with Dell 2950, or other PCs.
I don't believe any stray characters are being sent

So even though I was 99.99% sure it wasn't my KVM switch, I took it out of the picture.
Monitor, USB keyboard (generic dell), and USB mouse connected directly to R710.
Save behavior exists.
These issues seem to have started after the 2.0.13 bios upgrade. Is there anyway to downgrade?

well, go for the big one, pull power, pull the cmos battery, let the system reset and see if that helps

I have same issue before during our deployment with oracle nodes. Resetting the iDRAC to factory defaults solves the issue. Either via CTRL+E on POST and/or reseating the idrac module if installed.
