I prefer to use Citrix remote.

If you want to use a DRAC solution it depends on which server you have.

Thx

What I am trying to find is a DRAC card that can be utilized in the 2650. The ERA is nice but doesn't offer the necessary features that we need to support the site remotely.

I utilize RDP and ICA for remote access where appropriate but there are times when one needs to see the BIOS screen and work as if they are sitting in front of the server when they could be hundreds or thousands of miles away. I also need the capability of an external power supply to the card.

Does anyone know the answer to this?

HP has the RILOEE-II and IBM the RSA-II both of which offer these capabilities though IBM has done a better job for once on this. Still don't care for IBM servers but Hey you can't always pick and choose what you support.

For 2650, if you have a need to see BIOS screen, you may want to configure "Console Redirection" from the System setup Screen.  It's not prefect, but at least there's something....

Hi,

I have a poweredge 2950 with a DRAC5 card installed.
I'm told i need to have either Server Administrator installed on the server or another box with IT Assistant to get the e-mail alerts working as i don't have an SMTP server on the network, is this true?

I get an error about not being able to find the e-mail server when i try to configure it via the drac interface.

Also, if the drac is used with Active Directory Integration, can you log in to the drac if the Server goes down?

I'm kinda working to a deadline here to any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
