SmartUPS 1500RM problems
Hi
We've recently installed a PE6600 and a PE4600 both with APC 1500 rackmount UPS's. These have the option of serial or USB connections. With the USB lead the battery appears in device manager in windows server 2k3 (i.e. the cable is working). When we try to start the APCPBEAgent we get "Communication Not Established". Powerchute can see the server but when we try to add it to the list of monitored servers it fails. We get a similar story when we try the serial cable. These servers used to work fine with a non-rackmount SmartUPS1500 using the serial cable.
Subsequently we've installed a PE2650 with a 2200RM. This works fine using the USB cable.
There's nothing we can see on APC's website about it. Any ideas?

Mike,
I know it was quite a while ago when you posted this message, but did you ever get anywhere with this?
We're having exactly the same problem on our PE2850 / SmartUPS 1500RM.
